Which Boat Should I Choose for a Chicago River Cruise?
Choosing the right boat can make a big difference in your Chicago River cruise experience. Here’s how to select the best option based on timing and your plans:

Big Boat
Our Big Boat is the most flexible option for river cruising and works well any day or time. As a large commercial vessel, it typically receives priority on the river, making it ideal for smooth cruising even during busy periods.
That said, on fireworks nights, river traffic can make it difficult to exit the river in time to reach the lake before the show. If your goal includes fireworks viewing, we recommend going out on the lake.

Yachts
Our 40- and 46-foot yachts are a great choice for river cruising during weekdays, when traffic is lighter and the experience is more relaxed.

On weekends, the river can become extremely congested with standard charter boats, resulting in long waits and slower movement. For this reason, we strongly recommend weekday river cruises on yachts and typically avoid Wednesday nights, when fireworks traffic adds additional congestion.
