3rd of July
3rd of July is the night of the big fireworks show put on by the city and choreographed
to music. This is always the most popular fireworks night of the year. |
4th of July
The traditional 4th of July Navy Pier fireworks are the highlight
of the evening, but from the time the sun sets until arrival back in the harbor
the horizon is full of fireworks from the surrounding neighborhoods and nearby suburbs. |
Mackinac Race Day
300 sailboats set out for the journey to Mackinac (pronounced Mackinaw) Island at various start times.
It is quite the spectacle so be sure to bring a camera. |
Venetian Night
This night is about the fireworks (if you want to see the boats all decorated and
parading through Monroe Harbor, you have to be on shore). These fireworks are consistently
as good or better than the 3rd of July fireworks. |
Air & Water show
Saturday and Sunday of the Air Show are full schedules every year. In the past Friday
was a "practive day". In 2008 the city added Friday afternoon as a show day, then
a night show (yes, the planes are lighted and trail fireworks behind them), and
a small fireworks show. Additionally, Thursday became a new practive day. We will
update our schedule as we have more information for 2009. |
